I like this post! I'm a fan of Mucha and what he represents to me: spirituality in art, the notion that art is everywhere... and then his pictures are just soo great!
Also relate strongly to this "revolt against ugliness".

I was given a Mucha ink drawing by a friend, whose aunt was a Madam in Central City, CO many years ago. When the aunt passed away, it was given to the family. I would like to know more about the drawing. It is one of the seasons set. Please respond if you can give me more information. It could very well be a impersonation, but it is very good.

Mucha was a genius......period. He was original in every sense of the word.

His line drawings are sometimes light and airy, and sometimes very crisp . . .but always full of detail. Some of his pastel paintings, especially the ones of his wife, are so full of life and love that they seem to glow. His finished paintings are the antitheses of his drawings . . .precise and extremely tight, yet you can always see the underlying drawing and the two compliment each other perfectly.

Finally, any true fan of Mucha should be familiar with his final paintings, the Slav Epics.
These paintings are domineering in size, and are truly powerful images about the history of his people.

He will always be one of my favorites.
