Never heard of it or Dodson or his previous book before. Having just "googled" his name, I chanced upon your site and enjoyed your review. I, too, love the fact that Dodson added artists and especially one of my favourite illustrators - Trina Schart Hyman! What are the chances of that? And Dodson painted with her on a weekly basis for 10 years. I teach art - currently at a junior high - and I'm always looking for ways to engage and inspire my students. This book will come in handy for that and especially for myself and my own art practice. I love the priniciples he has set forward in the introduction. You see, I just bought the book few months ago and I've got to admit it helps me a lot in how to perceive better in drawing. But then I want something more other than only capturing the image from reality into a paper, I want to create based on my imagination -- and that, i don't have any idea on how to.
