Jamin is a great teacher in class, too. He's a really well-rounded artist and has so much to offer. Who else wants to see more tutorials?

I was (just like you) also struck by this excellent SP (great drawing, accurate values and fresh colors), but upon looking enlarged version on his blog I noticed that it is digital painting. Which does not make it less worth or less good, of course, but I was hoping to see the texture and the brushstrokes.

The drawing exercise described here reminds me of the exercise that Robert Henri talked about (but may never have actually used with his students). He is known to have threatened to put the model in one room at the Art Students League in New York and allow easels and canvases only in the room next door where no immediate view of the model was accessible.
