I was at McCloud"s presentation in NM and so pleased I attended. I was amazed and surprised at those attending...it ranged from 8 year olds with their folks to an man who brought his entire design staff, who during Q and A admitted that he had his employees read all of McCloud's books. McCloud presentation was as fun as reading his books. Although I had purchased his book a few years back, I just read it a few months ago and I haven't stopped recommending it to everyone I see. His book is so unassuming, but will blow you away as you start reading it. I finally understand the differences and history between American comics/animation and Japanese anime/manga. I've spent a small fortune in the past few months buying many of the indie comics McCloud's suggests, and I've discovered this very website as a result of following up on McCloud's recommendation. His book should be required reading for anyone working in the visual media: photography, animation, film, comics, cartoons, web design and his book makes one appreciate the fantastic art that we daily take for granted.

I liked very much his Invisible Art. When I meet young comics authors, I make them read this book.
