Gustave Moreau is one of my favourite painters. Orpheus (with a Thracian Maid) (my favourite) is sublime in its colour and detailing - it's amazing to see in real life (it's at the Musee d'Orsay) and think that it was mostly done in watercolours. I've been to the Gustave Moreau museum as well, he was an incredibly prolific artist. Jupiter et Semele is HUGE and the colours are so rich and vibrant, and there is so much to take in it has a seat in front of it just so you can sit and stare. You can't appreciate his work unless you see it in real life, because the colours and intricacy just don't show in pictures on the internet... anyway, sorry for the effusing, I wanted to say that I have just discovered your blog and I really like what I've seen so far!
