I bet the Italian silk damask tablecloth with the oriental rug underneath was the hardest to paint. It took Van Dijck five years to finish the painting. The result is therefore stunning, just as Charley already has indicated.
Stunning. Eye Candy indeed.
The upper wheel of cheese looks like it has passed the “use by” date though. Five years working on a painting will do that.
